Over 30,000 dishes were sold during the four-day StrEat Fest, a culinary and artistic festival held from Thursday to Sunday at Tour&Taxis.
The third edition of the festival welcomed 11,000 visitors sampling street food creations from 100 chefs from across the country in sheds 1 and 2.
The festival also offered more than 250 appointments, including masterclasses with renowned one-starred chefs Christophe Hardiquest from Menssa and Florent Ladeyn from Auberge du Vert Mont, and two-starred Yves Mattagne from La Villa Lorraine.
"We inaugurated masterclasses this year, which have been a huge hit, demonstrating people's growing interest in meeting the chefs," said Terry Vermandel, the head of Tatou Production, which organises StrEat Fest.
StrEat Fest serves to be accessible to a larger audience, and inspires chefs to rethink their cuisine, explained the Menssa head chef, taking part for the first time. "It is a simple, engaging event, where people have a good time, ask questions, share experiences. It's what people need today."
The festival programme also included cooking workshops, concerts, DJ sets, a grocery shopping area, a mini "Brussels vintage market", a beauty bar, and a children's corner.
The fourth edition of StrEat Fest has been scheduled for 15 to 18 May 2025.
