Traffic disruptions are expected in part of central Brussels on Tuesday morning due to a diplomatic visit of the Sultan of Oman.
The Sultan of Oman will be in Belgium for a diplomatic visit from 2 to 4 December. As a result, traffic jams are expected around the Place des Palais on Tuesday morning.
The Brussels-Capital/Ixelles police are expecting traffic congestion from 10:00 to 11:30, they announced on social media.

"Tuesday starts with a ceremonial reception at the Place des Palais in Brussels and continues with a working lunch between King Philippe, Queen Mathilde and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, as well as a visit to Brussels City Hall," the Royal Palace announced. At the end of the day, a State Banquet will also be organised at the Castle of Laeken.
On Wednesday, the King and the Sultan will visit the Port House in Antwerp for an exchange with various stakeholders of the Port of Antwerp-Bruges and the Port of Duqm (Oman) on existing collaborations and further future prospects.
In February 2022, the Belgian King and Queen also paid an official visit to Oman as part of the Belgian-Oman cooperation on green hydrogen.
