A duplex apartment in the Brussels municipality of Schaerbeek was declared uninhabitable after a fire on Sunday.
The fire destroyed the apartment but no one was injured, according to the Brussels fire brigade.
Firefighters were called to Rue Lefrancq in the Brabant neighbourhood of Schaerbeek at 08:00 on Sunday morning, where a two-storey building was ablaze.
The residents of the building had already been evacuated by the time the fire brigade arrived.
The ground floor duplex sustained significant fire damage and was declared uninhabitable.
The firefighter operation lasted until 10:00. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental but the exact source remains unknown.
