Police are still searching for the gunmen following the early morning shooting at a Brussels Metro station on Wednesday.
The incident had a major impact on public transport for a large part of the day, but services slowly resumed in the afternoon.
The shooting occurred a the Clémenceau metro station at 06:15. Images from surveillance cameras show two people opening fire outside the station.
A video circulating online suggests that they were shooting in the direction of other individuals on bikes. The gunmen fled the scene via a metro tunnel but have since left the network.

Translation: No place for violence in Brussels and our big cities. This has gone on long enough! This government will apply zero tolerance to any form of crime.
A temporary police stand has been set up at Anderlecht town hall. Interior Minister Bernard Quintin (MR) has joined the stand to help Anderlecht mayor Fabrice Cumps (PS) and other authorities to monitor the situation.
"The suspects fled in the direction of the metro station and may still be in the tunnel between the Clémenceau and Midi stations," police spokesperson Sarah Frederickx told Belga News Agency. "The Brussels Midi police and the federal railway police are searching the area. No one was injured in the shooting."

The Public Prosecutor's Office said the incident is not being treated as a terror attack. It has dispatched a forensics team and several shell casings have been discovered on site.
No one has been arrested and the investigation is ongoing, but the incident is likely related to feuding drug gangs.

The Clémenceau, Delacroix and Midi metro stations had been closed to the public by police order on Wednesday morning, but reopened around 14:00, STIB confirmed. Metro lines 2 and 6, and tram lines 4, 10, 51 and 82 were interrupted throughout the morning.
