Around 100 employees of Imperial Logistics, a subcontractor of Audi Brussels, staged a protest in front of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) embassy in Ixelles, Brussels from 10:00 on Monday morning.

The UAE owns the DP World group, which includes Imperial Logistics. The subcontracted workers are seeking financial assistance as part of the company's social plan, according to the CNE (National Federation of Employees).

The Audi Brussels factory, employing 3,000 people, will close in a few days.

The closure will impact all its subcontractors, who are not included in the redundancy plan negotiated for the factory workers. On Friday, 200 subcontracted workers began a blockade of the production site in protest of their exclusion from the plan.

During the protest on Monday, the workers also urged the Federal Government to amend the Renault law, which outlines the process for collective redundancies, to bring about change.
