An online influencer has been banned from driving for 17 and a half years after filming himself speeding through tunnels in Brussels. The driver has also been fined €25,600 by police in Brussels.

The multiple videos originally surfaced on social media in May 2023 and show the man driving at speeds of up to 250 km/h in Brussels tunnels. In most instances, the cars were rented with registrations from Germany or Poland.

Prosecutors looked into his Instagram account and found the cars were used to perform high-speed driving and overtaking. The videos were shared with more than 40,000 people.

He was arrested in December 2023 while driving a rented sports car. Despite being under investigation, he was caught driving over 100 km/h in Brussels tunnels in April 2024.

The repeat offender, who had already been banned from driving six times and was banned from driving when the videos were made, failed to appear in court and was charged in his absence.
