A man was injured in a stabbing on Avenue du Port in Brussels last night, according to the Brussels Public Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday.
"Last night, a person was found injured on Avenue du Port in Brussels," said the Public Prosecutor's Office spokesperson, Laura Demullier.
According to Demullier, the victim is a 33-year-old man who was stabbed with a knife. "The victim suffered three stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital. The suspect fled the scene," he said.
The exact circumstances of the incident are still unclear. The Public Prosecutor's Office was notified and opened an investigation, among other things, to identify the suspect.
The Prosecutor's Office is not providing any further comment at this time.
