The 50-year-old man who shot and killed a bar owner in Anderlecht last weekend has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He will appear before the Brussels council chamber on Friday.
On Sunday, a dispute between the 56-year-old owner of bar La Maison Haute on Avenue d'Itterbeek and the tenant of an apartment above the bar escalated. The two had been feuding for some time. The 50-year-old tenant entered the bar around 20:30 in the evening and shot the owner four times.
The victim was seriously injured and taken to the hospital, where he died.
The suspected shooter was quickly arrested. He rented an apartment on the third floor, above the bar. The suspect has since been brought before the investigating judge, who decided to detain him on suspicion of murder.
The Brussels council chamber will decide on his further detention on Friday.
