Brussels Mobility has resumed its work of asphalting Brussels roads this week, mainly to repair winter damage.

“Just like every spring, Brussels Mobility starts implementing its maintenance schedule as soon as the temperatures allow it to asphalt up again for large road sections,” Brussels Mobility said in a press release.

“The objective is to asphalt and renew entire road sections as possible, rather than to carry out local minor repairs. This year, €10 million will be allocated to asphalting.”

Improvements will be made to small road infrastructure whenever possible during the planned interventions, including bollards, markings and cycle paths, among other things.

Scheduled works will be posted on the Brussels Mobility website, and work will be carried out during the night in order to minimise traffic disruption.

The asphalting programme will run through the autumn, stopping when it becomes too cold for warm asphalt.
