According to the results published on Wednesday from a survey by the “Questions à la Une" radio show on RTBF, several employees from the Brussels airport, mostly baggage handlers have left to join the fight in Syria. According to the RTBF, fifteen badges which gave the baggage handlers access to the airport tarmac, and the planes, were canceled. Security services acted quickly because these employees no longer had security clearance to be in possession of the badges.
"We are not aware of the situation here at Swissport. Therefore we can not confirm the information," said the airport handling company to RTBF.
The operator of the airport, Brussels Airport Company, declined to comment. The federal police, when contacted by Belga, also did not confirm this information.
