Monday, 27 October 2014
A Securail security guard was assaulted twice on Saturday morning at Brussels-Midi train station by a man currently residing illegally in Belgium. The assailant first tried to stab the guard with a knife and push him on the rail tracks before then hitting him several times. The man was restrained and questioned. He was then placed under arrest for attempted murder, illegal possession of a weapon and illegal residence, indicated the public prosecutor’s department in Brussels.
The man threatened the guard with a knife when he was asked to leave the platform where he was sleeping. He then tried to push the officer onto the rail track and fled the scene.
A little later the Securail guard again bumped into his assailant, who again threatened and assaulted him. The suspect was finally apprehended by other guards and the police. He was brought before the public prosecutor and placed under arrest.
