Considered a level 3 threat, Dieudonné’s Brussels show is cancelled

On Sunday afternoon, Brussels mayor Yvan Mayeur told the Belga agency that he had submitted a decree cancelling the controversial French polemicist Dieudonné’s show. He was due to perform at 6.30pm at Tour & Taxis. He based his decision on the opinion of the Organisation for coordination of threat analysis (Ocam), which considered such an event a level 3 threat, on a scale of 4. This decision is justified by the problems that could have been caused by members of the public, or those against the event.

The hall has also been booked, for a fashion show by “Thor” a sports brand that doesn’t exist. The owner of the hall could have been tricked, said Yvan Mayeur.

The mayor decided to ban showing support or opposition for Dieudonné’s show throughout the town. Police forces have been sent to Tour & Taxis.

Dieudonné’s Brussels show was announced on his website. People were asked to give their email address to find out where the show was taking place. Information was sent to those interested after 3pm on Sunday.
