Brussels 20 km: The Red Cross not much needed during this “very good year”

The Red Cross and the emergency services in general had relatively little to do during the 36th Brussels 20km. The race took place on Sunday, in rainy and cool weather. The Red Cross only had to deal with 300 people, 6 of whom had to be sent to hospital. None of them were in a critical condition.

According to the Red Cross spokesman, Nancy Ferroni, this 20 km was the calmest the emergency services have ever had to deal with. The organisers were also very happy; they called it a “very good year”.
