From now on, people living in Uccle, Watermael-Boitsfort and Auderghem can send an email or a letter to the police station asking for speed checks to take place in their street within a fortnight. Het Laatste Nieuws reveals on Wednesday that this is the only police zone offering this service in Belgium.
Residents can even specify a time frame when the speed checks should take place. If speed limits are exceeded on too many occasions, additional controls are then established.
