Suspicious French-registered vehicle found in Brussels – search reveals nothing

A search of the vehicle which was discovered on Brussels’ Rue Joseph II (near Rue des Deux Eglises) on Monday morning, and which raised the suspicions of the police, did in fact reveal nothing untoward, said the Brussels-Ixelles police zone. The army’s demining squad searched the grey Golf, badly parked and deemed suspicious, and seized the car registration documents and a suitcase.

The area extending from the intersection Rue Joseph II/Rue du Commerce to the Rue Joseph II/Boulevard Charlemagne intersection was cordoned off during the search. Traffic was also diverted away from the streets adjacent to Rue de la Loi.
