Summer time in Belgium

Clocks were moved forward one hour at 2:00 Sunday morning on 27 March to show 3:00. Just as in other countries Belgium moved to summer time early Sunday morning. Summer time will continue under the last weekend of October.

Time change was introduced in Belgium in 1977 and is regulated by a 2001 royal degree. In applying summer time, Belgium followed in the footsteps of France that introduced the system in 1976, after the oil crisis, to save energy and have more light in the evening.
