Brussels attacks – An ISIS fighter from Antwerp claims responsibility for the attacks in a new video

The terrorist group ISIS has once again claimed responsibility for the attacks in Brussels. This time, a jihadist from Antwerp made new threats in Dutch, before executing a kneeling individual. This was reported by the Flemish group VRT News and De Standaard on their internet sites on Saturday evening.

The video starts with a warning in French, saying the attacks in Brussels were just ‘a taster’. The second part of the video features Hicham Chaib, from Antwerp. He is fighting for ISIS in Syria. In Dutch, he says ‘this is a message for the Belgian people, the Belgian government, Europe, the rest of the world, and the whole coalition that is fighting ISIS’. ‘For as long as you bombard our Muslims with your F-16s, we will kill your people’, he warns. He was a member of Sharia4Belgium, and a bodyguard for Fouad Belkacem.

The Antwerp resident says lessons were not learned from Paris (where ISIS perpetrated several attacks in 2015), and the attacks in Brussels ‘are just reaping what you have sown with your own hands’.

At the end of the video, a kneeling prisoner is executed with two shots. In Arabic, he says the fight will continue ‘in the heart of your country’.

In February 2015, Hicham Chaib, absent from the trial, was sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Antwerp court of First Instance.
