Remuneration to company managers on the rise in Belgium

The top chief executive managers in Belgium earned on average 2.07 million € in 2015. The CEOs of the companies listed on BEL20 saw an increase of their earnings by 17 % in 2015 compared with 2014. This disclosed business newspaper L´Echo on Saturday (2 April).

BEL20 are the 20 companies traded at the Brussels Stock Exchange.The highest paid CEO is Brazilian Carols Brito, head of InBev, with 4.62 million €.

Four of the five highest paid CEOs of large Belgian companies are foreigners: Carlos Brito (AB InBev Brazilian), Jean-Christophe Tellier (UCB, French), Jean-Pierre Clamadieu (Solvay, French) and Frans Muller (Delhaize, Dutch). The highest paid Belgian CEO is Luc Bertrand (Ackermans & van Haaren) with 2.08 million €.

Two CEOs of the publicly listed companies, Dominique Leroy (Proximus) and Koen Van Gerven (bpost), earned 810,000 respectively 700,000 euros in 2015 because their salaries are capped by the government
