Anderlecht is not looking for a substitute for the Eurostadium, the Brussels football club stated unambiguously in a communiqué on Thursday. It was responding to information which appeared in several daily newspapers.
“Following the appearance of articles in some media publications today, RSC Anderlecht (RSCA) is now formally striking back. RSCA is not considering any substitute for the Eurostadium. Negotiations with Ghelamco remain ongoing and are still part of the main agreement that was made at the end of September 2015. RSCA wants to develop in a stadium which will offer the best possible soccer experience to all fans for decades to come. In particular, it should be noted that comments are frequently made in the media and that there is a major difficulty in integrating an excellent soccer experience within a multi-purpose complex, neither of which make such a project easy,” the Anderlecht club’s communiqué states.
