Iris Day celebrations - more than 150,000 visitors to 27th anniversary of the Brussels-Capital region

More than 150,000 people attended the celebrations for the 27th anniversary of the Brussels-Capital region.
So it was revealed on Sunday evening.

The Brussels Foodtruck Festival, brought together more than 140 lorries in the Brussels Park and delighted the taste buds of some 110,000 lovers of culinary pleasures. In addition, concerts scheduled on the Place des Palais square and street entertainment also drew in the crowds.

Around 20,000 spectators indeed rocked up to see DJ performances at the “electro” evening on Saturday, and other bands planned for Sunday.

In addition, around a hundred associations introduced visitors, in a highly personalised, recreational and interactive fashion, to the treasures and activities of their respective districts.

Finally, numerous artistes roamed the streets through dazzling sunshine, to the delight of children and adults alike.

The Brussels Parliament opened its doors to the public throughout Sunday, in particular enticing people not only to the Swing Festival but also jazz concerts and theatrical improvisation performances.
