Woman intercepted with €175,000 in cash at Brussels Airport

A Belgian woman was intercepted last weekend by Customs and Excise specialists at Brussels Airport in Zaventem. She had 175,000 euros in cash in her luggage. The SPF Finances (responsible for customs-related issues) stated this yesterday (Tuesday). The woman was bound for China.

The money, wrapped up in aluminium foil and hidden in biscuit tins, was seized. The Public Prosecutor's Office is presently conducting an enquiry.
