The Union of Mosques in Charleroi condemns the knife attack

Calls for all to show solidarity and stand up against violence The union issued a press release on Sunday evening (7 August) in which it strongly condemned the attack against two police officers outside the police station in Charleroi.

"This is a disgusting act of extreme cruelty against the police force whose mission is to protect the citizens," said the Union of Mosques of Charleroi.

The Muslim community of the city stated that its "special thought goes to the victims of the aggression and expresses its full support to the police."

It also wished the two police women a full and quick recovery. By “their heroic act they saved the lives of their colleagues."
