Two-family Schaerbeek confrontation – two women arrested

A dispute between two families occurred on Sunday afternoon in the Schaerbeek area of Brussels, causing the two individuals. to be injured.
Two women, A.Y (aged 43) and D.Y. (aged 19), who had had strained relations for some time, caused the scuffle. One injured the other with a meat cleaver and both were detained by police.

They were been referred to the investigating judge. The Brussels Prosecution Service indicated this on Tuesday. A.Y. already has criminal form. The Brussels Public Prosecution Service indicated this on Tuesday.

Police were called around 5 p.m. local time, in respect of a fight involving an injured person on Place Colonel Bremer in Schaerbeek.

Early indications are that an altercation took place between two women who exchanged blows. One of them also struck the other with a meat cleaver. This altercation was part of on-going tensions between the two women.

Family members of both women subsequently intervened. One of them, who was at the wheel of a car may have hit an individual.

The lives of those injured are not in danger.

The Brussels Prosecution Service required the implementation of a security perimeter, samples for the federal police scientific laboratory and the completion of various other investigative tasks.
