A woman suspected of having walked into a police station in Brussels wearing an explosive vest on Monday has been detained by Federal Railway Police (SPC metro) at Brussels-South Station, Belgian newspaper La Dernière Heure reports.
On Monday, the woman entered a Schaerbeek police station on Rue de Brabant in the morning wearing a black jacket. Concealed underneath was a white bulletproof vest with black electrical wires sticking out from underneath.
Police were immediately concerned that the woman was wearing an explosive vest.
The woman managed to flee the police station and elude the police. As a precaution, the police station was closed. A police spokesperson was originally unable to confirm reports that the woman may have been wearing an explosive vest.
