Individual fighting for his life following Saint-Gilles shooting

An individual is fighting for his life, following a shooting which took place Tuesday evening in Saint-Gilles. For the moment, no suspect has been arrested. This was indicated yesterday by the Midi police zone (which covers Saint-Gilles, Forest and Anderlecht).

Around 6.45 pm., a witness alerted the police. He had seen someone open fire from the Parc du Scheutbos on a van parked on the Rue de Mérode. Three shots were fired.

Still able to drive, the driver of the van quickly left the area to take his two passengers to the Saint-Pierre hospital. One of the three van occupants had three bullet wounds and his injuries are life-threatening.
