Swedish hotel group Pandox strengthens Belgian operations

Today (Friday), the Swedish hotel group Pandox announced that it has bought the Brussels hotel, Silken Berlaymont, for €32.7 million. The Swedish group already owns several hotels in Brussels and Antwerp.

The hotel comprised in the transaction has 212 rooms and is located within Brussels's Quartier Européen (the area well known for accommodating those EU institutions based in Brussels).

The CEO, Anders Nissen, stresses that by being close to the European Commission, the new acquisition will add value to the group's Brussels portfolio. Pandox will invest €3.5 million on improvements to the hotel. The group is already renowned for owning two Brussels hotels, The Hotel and Hotel BLOOM!, as well as the Crowne Plaza in Antwerp.
