Some 91 individuals have been placed under surveillance. Indeed 14 of these are foreign preachers. This is according to information supplied by the Minister of Justice, Koen Geens (Flemish Christian Democrats), and cited in the Sudpresse publications today (Tuesday).
“Some individuals contained in the list have been made subject to an order to leave Belgium and an expulsion measure.”
The minister stated this in response to a parliamentary question.
Amongst these individuals, Belgians and citizens from various other countries feature.
These countries include Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Congo Brazzaville, the US, France, Greece, Italy and Jamaica.
Other such states are Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Palestine, the Netherlands, Syria, Turkey and the Yemen.
Moreover, nine organisations and groups in Belgium were also put under surveillance in this way.
