The American heavy metal group singer, Gary Meskil, of Pro-Pain, was a victim of a theft and attempted murder in Brussels on Monday. The group has communicated this via a post on its Facebook page.
Per this post, the thieves stole cash and his credit card and hit him with an ice pick, following which a group of individuals then attacked him. Meskil was treated in hospital for face and jaw fractures, but his condition is stable.
The police have been able to determine the identity of one suspect, and have confiscated at least one weapon.
The group has suspended its tour for now and will not play as anticipated on Friday in Roeselare, or in Osnabrück in Germany on Saturday.
