Two hundred people demonstrate in support of refugees in North-Brussels

Around 200 people met at Brussels-North station at lunch time on Sunday to demonstrate in support of refugees. Their slogan was “I promise you a miracle”. Refugees have had to deal with intensified police operations over the last few weeks. Film director Lorent Wanson is behind this demonstration.

“I go past a Johan Muyle fresco at the station that reads “I promise you a miracle” every day. It’s an homage to cultural diversity, but I can’t accept what goes on, supposedly in our name”, explains Mr Wanson.

Two hundred people demonstrated at the station in support of refugees on Sunday, after an event was created on Facebook. “A symbolic action to show we are all immigrants, whether it’s been for a week, a month, or 150 years. People immigrate to live and survive”, adds Mr Wanson.
