STIB: an internal exam is annulled over suspicions of cheating

The results of an exam for an internal STIB promotion (the Brussels Public Transport Company) have been annulled over suspicions of cheating, the RTBF reported on Sunday.
Union sources say the exam was for a promotion to metro line manager. There were nine candidates for the two positions. Some candidates favoured by one or several departments were given the questions and answers beforehand. It all kicked off when the similarity of their answers gave the cheaters away.

After an inquiry that lasted several days and questioning those concerned, the managers of the HR department annulled the results and planned another session. A more in depth investigation will determine who is behind the cheating and if it has happened before.

STIB management has said there will be another exam, but they are claiming there was a problem with the “procedure for communicating the results not being respected”. Those who have been chosen will be given their grade before the official unveiling.
