“Huge disruption” expected on the Stib network on Monday

There will be “huge disruption” on the Stib network on Monday, the Brussels transport company warned on Saturday. This comes after two Unions warned them there would be strikes.

Stib doesn’t know which lines will be affected by the strikes. “Stib regrets the inconvenience caused and will keep its customers as up to date as possible by opening its Contact centre 070/23.20.00) from 6am on Monday”.

Their website (www.stib.brussels), the mobile internet site and the Stib app will also keep passengers up to date, along with their Facebook page (facebook.com/lastib) and Twitter account (@stibmivb), the company said in a press release.

The CGSP and CGLSB are protesting against diverse operational problems that create “a negative social climate” within the company. A meeting between management and the Unions on Friday morning did not resolve the situation.

Stib says another conciliation meeting between the management and Union organisations is planned for Monday morning.
