Board games in spotlight at Parc du Cinquantenaire during weekend
A variety of games will be showcased at the park this weekend.

The Parc du Cinquantenaire will this weekend transform into a 40,000 m² vast play area for the sixth Brussels Games Festival. The event devoted to board games will, for the first time, stretch over three days beginning on Friday from 3 p.m.

The festival, entirely free, welcomes beginners as much as seasoned players. Hundreds of games, seventy or so games producers but also clubs and associations will be represented at the event.

Besides traditional board games, educational and miniature games, play items on wheels such as tricycles and scooters and cards will all be happening. Equally so will party games or the popular Mölkky.

The area will also comprise shops, three exhibitions, a second-hand sale and an area to discover prototype games. Workshops, conferences and 20 tournaments will be organized.

On Saturday and Sunday, players are expected to turn up from 11.00 a.m. A “games night” is also planned for Saturday evening.
