Manneken Pis, the statue of a little peeing boy that is arguably Brussels’ best known symbol, was used in an Italian commercial for prostate medication.
“If you want to use the image in an advertisement, you have to ask the city of Brussels for permission,” said Edmond Vandenhaute, Chairman of the Order of Friends of Manneken Pis. “However, it does not bother me that it is used in an advertisement like that,” he added, he said to La Capitale.

The city of Brussels was not aware of the advertisement, but is also not worried. “We have not received any complaints yet. Only the little statue in our museum, the original, is protected,” they said.
