A 39-year-old man was placed under arrest and risks prison time after assaulting a 15-year-old at an attraction in a Brussels funfair at the weekend, the public prosecutor's office confirmed Tuesday.
The detainee, who authorities identified as a Bulgarian national, reportedly grabbed the girl by the chest and buttocks and tried to force a kiss on her beside one of the attractions, according to Bruzz.
The incident happened shortly before midnight on Sunday at the busy street fair, located in the municipality of Saint-Gilles near the Gare du Midi.
Moments after the assault, the minor's relatives identified the perpetrator by a shooting range, the outlet reports.
The public prosecutor's office confirmed on Tuesday that the man had been placed under detention and that he could face up to five years in jail for assaulting a minor.
