Due to a production error, a batch of rubbish bags for organic kitchen waste did not end up on Brussels' shelves in its usual dark orange, but almost yellow. This led to the bags not being collected in some places.

The bags look like their colour has faded from being out in the sun for a long time, but are being sold that way in the store. Because of this, rubbish collectors may confuse them with the yellow bags for paper and cardboard and not pick them up at the right time.

"It concerns a production error in one of the factories with which Brussels Propreté has a partnership; we do not produce the bags ourselves," a spokesperson for the waste collection service told Bruzz. "The bags were not taken off the shelves, because they will eventually be sold."

In the meantime, the production error of the supplier in question has been fixed, said the spokesperson. "The bags that are being produced now have the right orange colour again."
