Hooverphonic are the Belgian candidate for the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest, the group announced on Tuesday evening.

The band members, Alex Callier, Raymond Geerts and Luka Cruysberghs are currently working on their song for the contest, which will be in English, reports Eurovision TV.

The song, set to be released in early February 2020, “still needs to be recorded, produced and mixed. I am a perfectionist,” said the band’s producer and songwriter, Callier, reports VRT.

Alex Callier and Raymond Geerts have been the backbone of Hooverphonic since its establishment in 1995, while Luka Cruysberghs has been the band’s lead singer since 2018.

Songs such as ‘Mad about you’, ‘Badaboum’, ‘2 Wicky’, ‘Romantic’ and ‘Eden’ are some of the band’s best-known hits, reports Bruzz.

The 2020 Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Rotterdam, in the Netherlands, from 12 to 16 May.
