A train ran a red light near Brussels-Midi station on Tuesday afternoon, causing temporary disruption.

"The train breached the red signal around 16:20," clarified SNCB spokesperson, Bart Crols. It was taken away by another driver according to standard procedure. The train arrived at Brussels-Midi at around 17:15.

The blocking of one of the six available railway tracks on the Brussels Nord-Midi axis, he says, may cause rail traffic delays and cancellations throughout all of Tuesday evening.

The national rail company advises passengers to listen to announcements and consult the screens in stations and the SNCB website or app for further information.
