The Brussels Public Prosecutor's Office is looking for perpetrators who used flares to set fire to a car in the Brussels Versailles neighbourhood in Neder-Over-Heembeek earlier this week.

Footage shared online and published by La Capitale shows a young man, with his face largely covered by a hoodie, lighting a flare and stepping towards a Poppy sharing car (an Audi A3). The car's window is slightly open, and the young man fires the pyrotechnic into the car.

The footage shows police cars arriving, and the Brussels Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed to La Capitale that police were indeed called to the scene around 23:00 on Monday because of a burning vehicle.

The fire brigade also arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire, after which the vehicle was towed away. The Brussels Prosecutor's Office is now conducting an investigation to establish the identity of the suspects.
