Art, music and culture
Millenium Film Festival, various locations in Brussels, until 22 March
Since its first edition, this international festival, which shows films on themes of the Millennium Development Goals (now the Sustainable Development Goals), has been driven by the desire to encounter reality in all its breadth, depth and multi-dimensionality through the lens of a camera.

Independent directors from all corners of the world will shine a light on major challenges faced and objectives set by society. The 16th edition will open at Flagey on Friday in the presence of Oliver Stone, the director of 'Platoon' (1996) and 'Natural Born Killers' (1994). He will give a masterclass on his film career and the social reflections in his work.

Courants d'Airs Festival, Brussels Royal Conservatory, until Sunday 17 March
Established in 2005 to give students a chance to share their work and gain performance experience, this event has been growing in popularity ever since, attracting more spectators every year. Because the event is free, it also provides an occasion to make art accessible to a wider audience.

Over the past 20 years, it has diversified the talent that takes to the stage: the programme now also includes theatre, music (classical, historical, world, contemporary and jazz), visual arts and street arts. This year's 18th edition will present 22 projects for a total of 27 performances over five days.

Out and about
Brussels Design Market, Gare Maritime, Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 March
Make your way to Gare Maritime in Tour&Taxis for the largest vintage design market on the continent! This weekend, the indoor flea market dedicated exclusively to design will showcase around 100 passionate exhibitors from Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Germany and Italy, among others, displaying furniture and other vintage design objects.

From Corbusier to Jacobsen via Bertoia, this event will offer a wide range of choices to meet the diversity of tastes and interiors.

Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition in Brussels, Tour & Taxis, until 20 May
The exhibition 'Titanic: real objects, real stories' has dropped its anchor in the capital. Until 20 May, keen historians or lovers of the film adaptation can discover more than 260 objects recovered from the wreck site, and numerous reconstructions of the ship's emblematic places, including its grand staircase, a first-class lounge and the boiler room.

The exhibition tells the tragic story of the famous ocean liner, the remarkable men and women who were on board and its fatal crash with an iceberg four days after setting sail.

Kiosk Radio Sixth Birthday, TRACK, Friday 15 and Saturday 16 March
The beloved Brussels-based radio station is celebrating its sixth birthday! For this special occasion, the radio will be organising two club nights at TRACK, featuring Emily Jeanne & Carrier, Sagat (live), Bona Léa & Yooth as well as Richard Akingbehin and YeYe.

On Sunday afternoon, the radio station will help you unwind from two days of partying with its 'Think Outside The Kiosk' event in an uncharted space inside Brussels North station. The three-day celebration will end with a bang with Just Begun Rec. w/ Aemone, Rosie from the Block, Mambele, John Parm.

English comedy
'The Adventures of the White Unicorn' stand-up comedy show, La Plume Persée, Friday 15 March
Estonia-born stand-up comedian Heli Pärna is returning to Brussels with her first comedy show after her previous success in the Belgian capital as well as performances in Luxembourg, Amsterdam, Geneva and Tallinn.

In her unique stand-up shows, Pärna does not hold back, instead opening herself up to the audience in a witty, funny and vulnerable way. With depictions of "life in Brussels, life in Estonia and life on Tinder," and answers to some of life's most puzzling questions, this English-language show cannot be missed.

Saint Patrick's Day in Brussels
Last but not least, Sunday 17 March is Saint Patrick's Day, marking the Emerald Isle's annual celebration of its patron saint. Brussels' growing Irish diaspora means that there is a huge range of events taking place to celebrate the occasion.
