A bus accident occurred on Sunday near the Van Praet bridge, alongside Brussels’ canal.
From the 33 people on board, 22 were injured, including three severely, according to initial reports from emergency services.
“A tourist bus collided with a tree earlier resulting in numerous injuries,” Fire Service spokesperson Walter Derieuw confirmed.
Upon arriving at the scene, the emergency services established a medical triage post. Three emergency medical units and five ambulances, along with the police, are at the scene assisting with relief operations.
“The exact circumstances surrounding the accident are still under investigation,” Derieuw added.
