Police launch appeal for witnesses after attempted murder in Saint-Josse

At the request of the investigating judge in Brussels, the Federal Police launched an appeal for witnesses on Monday following the attempted murder of a man in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode last week.

At around 02:45 on Sunday 24 March, the 28-year-old victim was shot at while sitting in a white Volkswagen van parked in front of Eric's Burger on Rue de la Prairie in Saint-Josse. The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The perpetrators fled in a dark Peugeot 3008, number plate 1-YAP-148. The vehicle drove through Rue de Brabant to Place Liedts and was found burnt out at around 03:00 in the Petit Chemin Vert area in Neder-over-Heembeek.

As part of the investigation, investigators are looking for CCTV footage (surveillance cameras, dashcams, doorbell cameras or any other image capture) that may have filmed the vehicle or the perpetrators before the events and during their escape.

Anyone who may have witnessed the events and/or suspicious behaviour on Rue de la Prairie in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode or near Petit Chemin Vert in Neder-over-Heembeek is also asked to contact the police.
