S&P 500, Nasdaq set records on hopes for Middle East peace

The New York Stock Exchange closed higher on Wednesday, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq reaching new records as investors anticipated continued US-Iran negotiations.

The technology-heavy Nasdaq rose 1.59% to 24,016.02 points, surpassing its previous closing record, set in October 2025.

The broader S&P 500 also hit a new peak, closing at 7,022.95 points, up 1.18%.

The Dow Jones, however, slipped slightly, finishing 0.15% lower.
