OKay Compact – the urban version of the OKay neighbourhood supermarket from Colruyt Group – is opening its 12th Belgian store and its fifth one in Brussels on Friday, 8 April.

Located on Rue Picard in Molenbeek, it will be open seven days a week, according to a press release from the company.

“In this convenient neighbourhood supermarket, customers will find everything they need to do their daily shopping quickly, easily and cheaply,” reads the press release.

In addition to groceries, the shop will also sell takeaway products like sandwiches and coffee, along with a salad bar. A pasta bar will be added on 19 April.

“OKay Compact went to meet local residents to find out their stories and those of the neighbourhood, because nothing is more natural than for a local supermarket to want to discover its neighbours,” the company said.

“Passers-by took part in the game and their stories, full of love for the region, can be discovered in the store's opening newspaper.”

Colruyt also recently opened another store in Brussels aimed at catering to cyclists and pedestrians picking up online grocery orders.
