Belgian airline Air Belgium will operate connections of major Polish airline LOT from Warsaw to New York, Polish aviation site Pasazer.com reports.

Air Belgium will use its new Airbus A330-900 long-haul aircraft, which it acquired at the end of 2021, to service the route. The airline owns two of these aircraft, which have the capacity to carry 286 passengers across the Atlantic, with 30 seats in business class, 21 in premium, and 235 in economy.

The Belgian-owned Airbus A330-900 is equipped with the latest interior, featuring a high-tech entertainment system, onboard WI-FI, and mood lighting. The plane is powered by two powerful Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines.

Air Belgium has entered into a wet-lease agreement with LOT, meaning that it will loan both the aircraft and crew to help the airline make the connection to New York. The planned agreement will last for one year, the Polish aviation publication announces.

This is not the first time that the major Polish airline has partnered with Air Belgium. In 2019, the Belgian airline leased its Airbus A340 to LOT for flights on the same route.
