Dutch bank ING announced on Monday that it is cutting some 230 jobs in its corporate division.
These redundancies will affect several sites worldwide, although ING has not specified the exact locations of the affected offices.
However, it said the restructuring targets primarily branches with an imbalance created by too many senior positions and not enough junior roles.
Affected employees will receive support in finding new jobs, either within the bank or externally.
Despite these cuts, ING, which employed nearly 64,000 people globally at the start of the year, intends to recruit in areas where it aims to develop specialised skills and expand its pool of young talent.
