US President Donald Trump has announced a 25% import tariff on trucks from foreign countries, in a post on his Truth Social channel.
Trump stated that the measure would come into effect on 1 November 2025.
The tariff will apply to all medium- and heavy-duty trucks entering the United States.
According to the White House, the decision has been made for reasons of “national security” and aims to support US truck manufacturers.
