The lead singer of heavy metal band Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, died on Tuesday at the age of 76, his family announced in a statement.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,"his family said in a statement. "He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
The British artiste, nicknamed ‘The Prince of Darkness’ in reference to his stage performances, suffered from Parkinson's disease, diagnosed in 2019, and emphysema, a lung condition.
He gave his final concert with the other founding members of Black Sabbath in Birmingham, England, on 5 July.
