Ukraine expressed disappointment on Saturday towards the European Union for providing insufficient amounts of arms and at a too slow pace.

A tweet by Mychajlo Podoljak, adviser to Ukrainian President Zelensky said that “Ukraine needs weapons now. Not in a month, now.”

Since the Russian invasion on Ukraine began on 24 February, the European Union has already announced a 1.5 billion euros package in military aid to Kyiv, according to Belga news agency.

However, Kyiv believes these deliveries are insufficient and too slow. The European funds made available are used primarily to finance protective equipment, first aid kits and fuel, but also “lethal military equipment for defensive purposes.”
