The European Commission has approved Tikehau Capital and Aciturri Aeroengines’ plan to take joint control of Aerian France, under the EU Merger Regulation.

Tikehau Capital is based in France, while Aciturri Aeroengines is based in Spain, the Commission noted in a release on Tuesday.

Aerian France SAS is referred to as AERIAN in the decision.

The deal relates mainly to the production of components for aircraft engines.

The Commission said it found no competition concerns because AERIAN’s activities in the European Economic Area (the EU plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) are negligible and the companies’ combined market position would be limited.

Reviewed under simplified procedure

The merger was assessed using the Commission’s simplified review process, a streamlined procedure used for cases that are unlikely to raise competition issues.

Further details are published in the Commission’s online case register under reference M.12423.
