Hidden Belgium: The Four Horsemen

People like to sit on the beach at Nieuwpoort watching the waves swallow up a group of massive bronze horsemen.

The artist found the unidentified figures in various antique dealers. They represent a Roman soldier, an English knight, a polo player and a jockey. When asked to explain the work, the artist said, ‘Power comes and goes, just as the tide ebbs and flows’.
